Welcome

Welcome to St Peter's CE Primary School.

St Peter's was founded in 1869. With a Victorian building at its heart and set in beautiful grounds, around 100 pupils aged 4-11  come here and enjoy the unique opportunity to learn and play in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We are proud of our school's warm, caring atmosphere, where every child is truly known and valued for who they are and develop a genuine love of learning.

Our pupils, about a quarter of whom are from military families, are provided with an ambitious, broad and balanced education enriched by a wide variety of trips and active, hands-on learning opportunities. Our school has modern classrooms with the latest technology and high quality resources. Through continual praise and support, children are carefully nurtured by a highly dedicated and talented team.  We are proud to be part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST). St Peter's became part of ODST in 2015. ODST is a thriving Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire. It is one of the largest MATs in the region, with five geographical hubs to support school-to-school collaboration. ODST values the unique identity of each school in the trust. We have the freedom to serve our individual community in the way we know best, with support from ODST to ensure they have what they need to deliver the best for their pupils. We  are also  supported by an enthusiastic and committed Local Governing Body and an active PTA (FOSPS). We also benefit from close links with the team from St Peter's Church.

At St Peter’s school, each child’s unique talents and personality are embraced and nurtured in order for them to achieve their full potential. We acknowledge and respect every child’s individuality. We listen to and work with parents and are committed to being integral to the local community.

We have high expectations at St Peter's and seek to develop in all our children a strong sense of responsibility for their behaviour and a respect for others. The Christian foundation of our school underpins all that we do. The warm-hearted ethos of St Peter's is very special indeed - pupils flourish and are very well prepared, in the widest possible sense, for their future lives.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school and working together with you, to help your child to develop intellectually, socially and emotionally during these very special years. We hope that you will support the school to achieve our aims by becoming part of the St Peter’s family.
