Physical Education

Intent

We aim for pupils to experience high quality P.E. We want to provide knowledge through instruction, practice and feedback for pupils to flourish within their phase and prepare them for the next stages of learning.

St Peter's  Y1-6 PE Curriculum OverviewSt Peter's YR PE Curriculum Overview

 Implementation

We are lucky enough to have P.E taught by experienced staff in single year groups throughout the week. We use P.E planning as our spine (abridged version above) and the annual programme of partnership events helps to shape when we teach different sports to make them meaningful to our pupils.

At St Peter's every KS2 year group goes swimming to meet the requirements of the core curriculum and also provide extra lessons to meet end of KS2 expectations.

Impact

  • All of our pupils receive 2 hours of quality PE each week
  • In 2023-24 100% of our KS2 pupils attended at least 2 partnership sports events.
  • In 2023-24 100% of our Y6 pupils could swim 25m competently.

We are pleased there is such a wide range of sports events and opportunities for our child to take part in.
